Short-Term Residential Treatment
Gilead is a 24-hour residential-based services program operated by Hope Network Developmental and Community Services and in partnership with Network180.
The program is staffed with direct support professionals who support residents with interventions outlined in their individual plans of service. Gilead provides intensive, short-term services to individuals with an I/DD diagnosis who are experiencing a temporary housing crisis.
While the home is capable of providing the full range of personal care and community living supports, the focus for this program is specifically designed to help the resident increase or maintain personal self-sufficiency and achieve greater community inclusion and participation.
In many cases, residents receive assistance in varying degrees with the following activities:

Each house is staffed with direct support professionals who use the Mandt System to engage with residents one-on-one.
A DHHS-approved curriculum is used to assist residents with:
- Personal care services
- Community living support
- Medication administration
- Medical training and support
Consistent with the culture of gentleness and person-centered planning principles, we believe that everyone deserves to feel valued and pursue their dreams. To that end, our interventions are informed by individual resident preferences and interests.
We promote self-sufficiency and community inclusion through a number of practices, including posted events calendars with identified staffing supports, individual schedules, and admission meetings. These structures promote predictability, planning, and participation.
Gilead also meets weekly with the individual’s case manager and other clinical staff assigned to the case. The purpose of these meetings is to plan near-term interventions, coordinate care, and plan for discharge.
Program Criteria
Referrals are received from or in coordination with Network180. Services are authorized in accordance with benefits outlined in the Michigan Medicaid Provider Manual.
